Chumphon Information

Chumphon is the main gateway to Koh Tao and the one of the fastest growing alternative tourist destinations in the Gulf of Thailand. Located on the coastal corridor between central Thailand and the Isthmus of Kra, Chumphon province constitutes 220 km of coastline.

Buses leave daily from Bangkok as well as the southern train and most young travellers who are yet to learn how to dive will select Koh Tao as their final destination but make their way through Chumphon. An upcoming destination for kite boarding and other wind related activities. Chumphon has several outlying islands, which have suffered very little diving and still have pristine reefs.

Chumphon is an interesting area to dive for travellers completing their dive education and either heading back to Bangkok of across to Khao Lak in the Phang Nga province.
